What’s Hot in 2020? Current Cosmetic Plastic Surgery Trends

As we celebrate the new decade, we’re seeing a rise in the number of requested cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures thanks to new technological advancements and creative new purposes to enhance the skin.

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, in 2018, approximately 18 million people had surgical and minimally invasive cosmetic procedures done in the U.S. Chances are good that either you, or someone you know has had a cosmetic or surgical procedure done for health, self-confidence, or other reasons.

According to the ASPS, the top five most popular procedures in 2018 included the following:

Breast augmentation
Nose reshaping
Eyelid surgery
Tummy tuck

Keep in mind that those perfectly filtered pictures and jawlines that you see on Instagram are most likely the results of a successful cosmetic or plastic surgery treatment. Thinking of having one done? You’re not alone!

We’re in a new decade, and that means it’s time to stay on top of current cosmetic and plastic surgery trends that are surfacing in 2020 (no pun intended).

Here’s what we think will be all the talk in 2020 in the world of cosmetic and plastic surgery:

Dermal Aka Injectable Fillers to Treat Acne

Injectable fillers, also known as dermal fillers, are highly requested by many clients. The trend continues in 2020, but for other skin reasons and purposes such as reducing the appearance of acne scars and maintaining healthy, and naturally glowing skin.

Another trend is to move toward the direction of “longer-lasting injectables” which will help provide longer-lasting and more voluminous results that are pain-free when injected.

Our injectable filler procedures involve the precise injection of an artificial substance into the face in order to fill out the skin for enhancement. Some of the most popular trending fillers include hyaluronic acid-based fillers like Juvederm, Restylane, Perlane, and Voluma. Choose a filler to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and crow’s feet or other imperfections. You can also use an injectable to add fullness and depth to your lips, cheeks, and other facial features.

Laser Facials and Radio Frequency for Body Contouring

We’re definitely seeing a lot more requests for laser facials and radiofrequency for body contouring purposes in 2020. Radiofrequency is a type of heat therapy that creates a tightening effect. It is minimally invasive and helps create a tighter, more radiant-looking jawline. Procedures like this are becoming popular because they are non-invasive and also because people are getting busier and don’t have a lot of downtimes. These procedures are simple, painless, and help clients get in and out as quickly as possible.

30th Anniversary of Botox

Botox recently rang in the big “Dirty 30” and is still one of the most popular noninvasive procedures out there. Nearly 100 million vials of Botox have been manufactured worldwide and the trend continues in 2020.

You can expect to see more technical advancements of neuromodulators, also known as “Super Botox,” which will create a more long-lasting effect of Botox and provide more aesthetically pleasing results that look more natural, according to Popsugar. You can expect to see new advanced technologies in store for Botox to continue to help your skin achieve smoothness and radiance.
This year, it’s also expected that Botox will be used in more creative ways, in different areas of the skin, such as the chest to target wrinkles and sun damage.

If you could freeze-frame a moment in time, Botox is the go-to option. Freeze frame youthfulness with the gift of Botox for you or a loved one in 2020. In fact, many physicians say clients that are nearing their 30th often come in for botulinum toxin injections for the first time. It’s never too early to start treatments!
